Valldemossa

With a population of just around 2000 people, Valldemossa is a quaint village amid the Tramuntana mountains in Mallorca islands, Spain. The village was put on the tourist map after polish composer Frederic Chopin spent the winter with George Sand, a French artist at the Real Cartuja de Valldemossa, a 13th-century monastery in Valldemossa. The Cartuja houses a mini-museum on various themes. Visit the old pharmacy and library used by the monks. You can also spot the original room used by Chopin. His piano and music are on display. Walk through the narrow cobblestone alleys to discover the cultural vibe of this idyllic village. Local delicacies - Coca De patata and Almond horchata are a must-try. The village is also popular as it is the birthplace of Santa Catalina Tomas, the most venerated saint in Mallorca. Tourists can visit her home and offer prayers at the church.
