Located in Southern Luzon island, Taal Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines. The volcano is in a caldera, a volcanic crater filled by Taal Lake in the Volcano island. The lake within a lake view had made the Taal Volcano a special phenomenon. Tagaytay, the nearest city to the volcano, has the most postcard-perfect view of the deadly beauty. If you want to experience the Volcano up close the best bet is to cross Taal Lake and go to the Volcano itself. Several hiking routes will lead you to the top of the volcanic island. While the Spanish Trail is the most popular one used by tourists, the Kenny Trail is a quieter and cleaner route to reach the top of the island. Once you are on top, enjoy stunning views of the lake, mountains, and the surrounding areas.
