Salento, a small town in Columbia’s Quindio department is known for its famed coffee farms, picturesque Cocora valley, and rustic vibes. Visit Valle de Cocora, a vast valley full of wax Palm trees. You can choose to take a circuit hike up the hill to a viewpoint to see the entire valley or do short walks in the fields to see the tallest trees. Salento boasts some high-quality coffee beans and is a world-famous coffee region. Go on a coffee tour to see the plantation, different stages of the coffee plant, and harvesting of beans. Play a game of Tejo, Colombia’s favorite sport in a local bar. Tejo is similar to bowling except you hit the target with a ball stuffed with gunpowder which causes a mini-explosion of sorts. Enjoy the sunset and stunning vistas of Salento town at Mirador, a viewpoint above the town center.
