Dondra is a picturesque settlement situated in the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka. According to historical records, Dondra was once a flourishing port town and believed to be the abode of Hindu God Vishnu. Visit Devundara Devalaya, a blue color temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu constructed on the ruins of an ancient temple that covered an extensive area. Climb the 161-meter tall Dondra Lighthouse for sweeping views of the Indian Ocean and the bay of Matar lined with palm trees. The white octagonal brick tower is one of the tallest lighthouses in South East Asia.
