With a coastline facing the Indian Ocean, Bengkulu has many beautiful and clean beaches – Panjang beach, Linau beach and Enggano Island. For those who can’t wait to trek, the breathtaking trail to Mount Kaba, a twin volcano, in this Indonesian province, is worth a visit. Make sure to head to the British-built Fort Malborough to take in Bengkulu’s rich history. Other attractions include spotting the largest individual flower on the planet, the Rafflesia Arnoldii, which is in bloom in December. Bengkulu also boasts of some lip- smacking seafood cuisine. Make sure to try some pendap, tempoyak and bagar shark.
